My Story
The journey to self is rarely a direct path. So much in this life can lead us to feel disconnected from our sense of self and from each other. In my own healing journey, I’ve watched communities come and go, I’ve changed career paths multiple times, and I've had to find ways to center myself through every unexpected change. For me, my belief in my communities helps me to keep showing up for myself and for those I love and care about. Navigating these changes alone can be hard, and I’m becoming a therapist so that I can support others as they build their support systems and find wholeness in themselves.
I received my associate's degree in Automotive Technology at Brookdale Community College, a Bachelor's in Music Production at UNCA, and am now in my final year of Lenoir-Rhyne’s Counseling Program for Graduate Students. In my time at Lenoir-Rhyne University, I’ve focused my studies on Identity, Traditional and Non-Traditional Relationship Issues, Grief, Loneliness, and Men’s Work.
When I meet with a client, I show up as myself, aiming to create a space that invites others to connect with their authenticity through experiential and somatic practices. With a background as an artist and an engineer, I love getting creative with solutions. While everyone needs to check some boxes in order to meet their basic needs, it’s equally important to continue finding joy and connection in our daily lives.
Outside of work, I’m almost always diving into some project. From woodworking to weaving, I’m forever curious about folk crafts and functional art. I also organize community events with my closest friends, finding any excuse I can to explore my passions for performance, whether that’s playing music or improv acting. While this makes me sound like a powerhouse of a human, most of the time I just want to spend the day napping with my dog.
