My Story

When I was a teenager I was diagnosed with ADHD, and I found out that self-blame and low self-esteem are common in those of us with ADHD. As much as I myself experienced this lowered self-esteem, I also felt angry that it was so common. I believe that no kid should feel like they aren't good enough. I decided, way back then, that I wanted to change the system that created blame and shame for so many kids. This decision set me on a path towards this job, one that I feel so incredibly lucky to get to do.

I learned my Bachelor’s in Psychology in 2020 from NC State, and my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lenoir-Rhyne University in 2024. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate, and I am certified in Motivational Interviewing.

I believe my work is rooted in the healing power of relationships. I start with authenticity, empathy, and enthusiasm. By creating a therapeutic relationship that is calm and supportive, I can help form the basis for emotional regulation. From there, I always try to incorporate family work, whether through family sessions or talking about family dynamics. We all need support from others, and I believe when we are able to lift others up, then they are better able to lift us up. We grow together, and it is my joy and privilege to be a part of this cycle of positivity for your family.

I use solution-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and narrative therapy techniques in my work. Regardless of what modality or technique I am using I always work from a foundation of person-centered care. Often this means letting a child lead the way in play so that they can freely express themselves. I believe we all have a need to have others show interest in what we are interested in, so I’m always curious to find out what is important to you. It is important to me that we are collaborative and authentic when helping create a therapeutic space that best meets your needs.

I love to spend my time out in nature, cooking and reading. Currently, I'm very excited about my little garden of green beans and cucumbers. I believe that taking care of myself best enables me to be a regulated and supportive presence for you, and I hope that I can help you find your own path towards positive change. I am so excited to meet you!
